Canoeing

Being the various journals, photographs, and remarks regarding my solo canoe trips into the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesotta.

I was introduced to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in 1971, when I made a group trip with the YWCA. That's right, with a "W". Back then we hauled aluminum canoes, cast iron griddles, and canvas tents. I went again the next summer, just before my senior year in High School.

Every year since 2002 I have made a trip to the BWCA... alone. You can read about my experiences, and find out more about the BWCAW using the links on the right. Be patient, I'm slowly getting around to putting all of it together.
